The
College organizes Late Benoy Chandra Bora Memorial All
Assam Inter-College Debate Competition annually and
gives prizes to the first two teams and the first three
debaters, in accordance with their performances and
positions in the Debate.
Apart
from different State and Central Govt. scholarships
(such as National merit, State Merit, SC/ST/OBC scholarships),
there are scholarships, prizes and medals given by the
college from its own resources to meritorious students.
Some of these are as follows:
Kuntala
Hazarika Memorial Scholarship
This
scholarship comprising an amount of money in cash and
a certificate-of-merit is given annually to the student,
who, in addition to obtaining the highest total amongst
all the students appearing at the HS Final Examination
from Nowgong Girls' College, secures First Division
and continues her studies as a TDC student in the College.
Muktaram
Gayan Merit Award
This
award comprising an amount of money in cash and a certificate-of-appreciation
is given annually to the student of Nowgong Girls' College
who secures the highest position amongst all the students
with Major in the TDC First Year Examination.
Nowgong
Girls' College Merit Awards
These
awards containing packets of books and certificates-of-appreciation
are given annually
i)
to the student
obtaining the highest total from amongst the HS
First Year candidates from Nowgong Girls' College
and also
ii)
to the student
obtaining the highest total from amongst the TDC
First Year candidates from the College.
Merit
Award Donated by Maloti Bora's Family
This
award comprising an amount in cash and a certificate-of-appreciation
is given every year to the student obtaining the highest
marks in Education Major among the successful Education
Major candidates from the College.
